C & P Coffee

This is a pretty funky place. It is a little hidden in the madness of California Ave, but is a pretty good spot for the coffee aficionado. It’s in a small old house. They layout is very interesting and you can pretty much hear everyones conversation. If you don’t want coffee they do have a beer and wine to enjoy which makes it a nice place to meet up. They have a La Marzocco machine and pour a pretty decent shot. Is the best place closest to the Fauntleroy Junction and will not disappoint.

Red Cup Espresso

Red Espresso boasts the claim as the first ever drive through coffee shop. It very might well be also. Red suffers from the fact that there are so many other quality coffee shops within a one mile radius. However, if you are looking to get a great shot and not get out of your car this is the spot. They have a La Marzocco machine and pour a decent shot that is going to help you get to where you are going. They focus more on the drive thru and the ambiance of the interior has suffered because of it. I would not recommend hanging there, but you will get a decent shot there.

Uptown Espresso

500 Westlake Avenue North
Seattle, WA

Review -

This is a chain around town (West Seattle, Westlake, Queen Anne, Belltown etc.) and is very interesting to me. They claim that they were voted the best Latte in Seattle by Seattle Weekly and even if that statement is true, that is not true anymore. Uptown establishments are normally very large, don’t stay open super late and normally host large groups. The coffee is pretty good, but very inconsistent. I have had really good latte’s here, but also drinks that were almost undrinkable. If this was in any other town it would be the standard, but in Seattle it is just another “pretty good” place. I would recommend it to sit and work, have a meeting, escape noise, but there are way to many amazing shops that will blow your mind. Quality? Yes! Amazing? No!

Cupcake Royale

21 Bellevue Way Northeast
Bellevue, WA 98004

Review -

This place has erupted in the last 5 years after the confusing cupcake boom. Opening several spots all over Seattle (West Seattle, Ballard, Medrona, Bellevue.) Depending on the location, it offers a interesting mix of hipsters, cupcake enthusiasts and people on dates. It is the most popular spot to get a cupcake, but certainly not the best in town (that award goest to Trophy Cupcake.) The great part about CR is that they do a fine job with their coffee. They use a Stumptown bean and the usual La Marzocco, they pour a very good shot and chasing the deliciousness with a cupcake is like a little slice of Unicorn vagina…

Cafe Fiore

Fiore has a few shops around town (West Seattle, Ballard, Greenwood) and all of them are good. They serve their own organic roast with a really dark flavor and the quality is amazing. They have gone above and beyond what it takes to make a great coffee shop. Custom made wood interior, with interesting designs, intricate patterns and an orange light Pokies backlighting a lot of the designs. They partner with all the local outlets to get their snacks and they only roast organic. What more do you want! If you find yourself in the vicinity of one of these you are going to need to stop or you might have to start reconsidering your life priorities.

Hotwire Coffee

Hotwire Coffee rocks. This is the place I go in West Seattle if I want a great cup of coffee. It is a little hole in the wall with only one table inside to sit. That’s not what it’s about here, it is all about the coffee. With a rotating cast of great barista’s they always deliver the goods with a smile and overly friendly attitude. They do have five computers to surf the internet or get business done free of charge if you purchase a drink. Some outside seating to enjoy your cup of amazing on a nice day this is the spot for you.

Diva Espresso

4480 Fauntleroy Way Southwest
Seattle, WA

Review -

This is my little get away in West Seattle. Very inconveniently located in-between a auto mechanic shop and a computer parts store, if you can get to it, Diva is great. A very open layout with lot’s of places to sit, a local flavor to it and pretty damn good coffee. Their coffee is nothing that jumps off the charts at you, but if you are looking for a good place to work and enjoy a great cup off coffee this is a hidden gem. There are only about 4 parking spaces in front, so you might have to park around the block, but well worth it. A La Marzocco machine and lots of snacks await you. Other locations include Greenwood, downtown and airport.
