This is a hard one to review, because one of the barista’s at this spot is a big fan of my comedy show. So, I will tread lightly. The shop itself is a little hard to find and located within a strip mall. Upon walking in, there was limited seating with one table filled with a women selling art and another housing a guy playing guitar and singing loudly like we would be missing out if we did not hear him. The vibe of the shop struck me as a little more vagabond then most and felt it belonged in Eugene Oregon. I was excited to see the La Marzocco machine, but taken back a little when they asked if I wanted flavor in my latte. On top of that, no 8 oz cup. The final product did not have the greatest color and the flavor was a little hard to find. Maybe it was my tastebuds that day, but I sweat I could not actually taste the coffee. I think this would be a cool place to hang if there wasn’t some guitar guy belting away songs he uses to try and melt chicks panties off with.

A funky spot in the downtown of this really odd town. Maybe it’s odd because the Wizard of Oz was written there, but whatever it is this shop fits the bill. An enormous space that is divided into these sections;1/4 coffee shop, 1/4 imported trinkets, 1/4 used book store and 1/4 magic the gathering players this place is a fun little find in Aberdeen. They have decent food, interesting art and a whacky vibe. They use Just Coffee Coop beans and had a very interesting flavor. Strong, a little bitter, but not bad for the middle of South Dakota. This is your best bet in town. Great hang!

A cool little spot in downtown Coromandel Town. Chai Tea Lounge has the sort of hippy vibe that always makes a decent shop. A plethora of vegetarian foods and deserts are on display and are even better tasting then they are looking. It’s nice to see a proper coffee shop. In New Zealand so many places are restaurants first and it is cool to see a place solely focus and survive off the coffee. A decent flavor on their drinks, but this is the only game in town. Great seating areas including some outside seating, free wi-fi and the occasional show makes this a must destination on your visit to the Coromandel.

It took me 15 minutes driving around downtown Austin just to find a parking spot to go to this place, but it was well worth it. It is a great layout, with high ceilings and a piano in the corner. It looks like a shop straight of Seattle. It was a little confusing on where to order with no signage and employees in two different locations in the shop. Apparently you order at another location then where the machines are. The spot that holds the espresso machines is an island located in the middle of the shop. They rock two stylish red La Marzocco’s. Apparently they don’t do 8 oz latte’s, but only 8 oz cappuccino’s, which was a little annoying, but whatever you call the drink they made me, it was delicious. It was smooth, light and packed with lot’s of tasty flavor. The best place I found in Austin and a must stop if you enjoy the finer things of Austin.

The Beat is a cool spot right on Freemont Street in Downtown Vegas. To be honest I have had trouble finding any decent coffee in Vegas, so I was very excited to try this spot. It is a funky spot with vinyl records to play in store and/or purchase. It is actually part of a larger facility that houses a dozen different art studios and the Burlesque Hall of Fame. Their machine was a little weak and the coffee was about the same. The food was mediocre, but it is a fantastic place to hang. I had a hard time getting online, but glad I did because I walked around to a few of the art studios which proved to be awesome! I would say, sit down and hang, but don’t expect to get great coffee here. However, expect to see some great stuff in a very energetic shop.
