This is the spot. Located right off the main street, and in a basement this place is the best. A funky little spot with a few seats, good art and pipes running across the ceiling. What more could you want in a record store and coffee shop? A La Marzocco machine that makes an awesome cup. Great color, flavor and presentation made this such an enjoyable place to visit. Enjoy quality coffee while you peruse through shelves of great vinyl records. I would take this place over most in the country. Best place in Ames, hands down.

Oh man, I was so stoked to wander into this place and see a single group Synnesso machine and a pour over station. Although this is not really a coffee shop. This place is all about the food. It’s a diner/cafe that serves up some tasty goodness from their full kitchen. The coffee had some great color and some good flavor. It was a little bitter, but I am not going to nitpick, because you are in bloody Fergus Falls Minnesota. However, the second time I came in my 8 oz double shot latte cost me $4.20 and they did ask me if I wanted flavor. I like to forget my second exchange and focus on the first, which was great. Definitely the best bet in FF. Get some great food also!

This was highly recommended to me, but I was confused on why. This is a restaurant that also has a coffee counter. Decorated in army parachutes and camouflage everything this tribute to Cuba has tons of space and is constantly packed with hipsters. The staff was very friendly and nice and their food is great. It is not really set up for you to get you coffee and sit down (unless you are eating food) although if you are getting your coffee to go, they do have a large assortment of baked goods to take away with you. A good La Marzocco produced a nice cup with a light flavor to it. It was good, I just did not understand all the hype about it. Only two blocks away there is a shop that blows your mind and focuses just on coffee. Get some food here.

Morning Light Coffee Roasters

I only had time to try one place in Great Falls and I made a huge mistake. I guess I let my fantasy that coffee roasters know how to make coffee take over, and that is certainly not the case. This is the highest rated coffee shop on Urbanspoon and is absolutely terrible. The place smelled, was full of old people and served my drink in a Styrofoam cup. They also had no 8 oz drink, asked me if I wanted my drink “Hot” and asked if I wanted “any flavoring?” All the signs of poopy coffee and that is exactly what it was. It was like gargling poo in my mouth. Do not go here!
