Coffee Country Of Origin

Coffee can come from many countries. Many people like to sample them all but some have their favorites. There are coffees from many regions in the world and many sub coffee types from that region. Certain coffee has certain standards and some coffee regions are considered better than others. As a result,

Coffee is grown in countries including, Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Hawaii, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Mexico and Nicaragua. A Coffee country of origin might alter many things about the way the coffee is brewed locally, the way it’s processed and the way it finally tastes.

Coffee beans are generally and for the most part, divided into two types of beans: Arabica and Robusta. Arabica beans tend to be more for special and gourmet coffees while Robusta beans are often for instant coffees and coffee of a lesser quality.

Robusta trees are from the eastern hemisphere while Arabica grows in both the east and the west but in more tropical climates. The Arabica bean requires a little more care than the Robusta bean. While there are some beans that are Robusta and considered premium, this is more rare. Some countries of coffee origin product solely Arabica beans.

When choosing coffee, look beyond just the country of origin. Looking for taste differences is important but business practices are also important. Many countries have coffee export businesses but those countries might not always have fair trade worker conditions. Fair trade practices or organically grown coffee might be a bit more pricey than typical coffee but they assure you that coffee comes from a place where people and the environment are both treated with a certain level of respect.

When choosing coffee, be it from Columbia, Hawaii, Africa, Mexico or some place else, consider adventuring. Try something other than the ordinary coffee you always drink. Consider trying something that’s brewed differently as well. A French press pot is inexpensive and gives a great coffee drinking experience. Espresso pulled steamed shots also has a certain essence that you can’t capture with a typical drip brew or an instant blend. Today, there are coffees available from all over the world and due to the global internet shopping village, you can access these varying options more than ever before.

No matter how you take your coffee, taking your coffee differently can be fun. Sample something new, buy a sampler pack from an online store or stop by your neighborhood café and ask for something exotic and different.
