I saw this place driving by and wanted to stop in years prior and forgot about it on my numerous visits back. Which is unfortunate because this place rocks! A hip, well lit space with big walk in refrigerators built in gives the feel like the place used to be an old dairy. Whatever it was it has transformed into a hipster haven of happy. This place has no internet, but you don’t need it because you will be logged into your tastebuds. Munch on their delicious pastries that they make daily in the show or try their delicious coffee. With a great La Marzocco machine and a tasty single origin coffee from 4 Barrell Coffee this place probably takes the cake in the Salt Lake City Coffee battle. Their 8 oz is more like a 10 oz making my latte a little milky, but the flavor is good to power through that little hiccup. A little hipster/sister wifey for some, but you won’t go wrong with this shop.

I was actually getting a tattoo next door and smelled some coffee. I walked over after and found this small little cafe. Almost walked out, then became very excited to see a Syneso machine staring back at me. The coffee they roast themselves and are very passionate about it. Telling me all about the day’s blend of Ethiopian and Costa Rican. The flavor of the coffee backed up their attention to detail with wonderful flavors. They did not have any food and the ambiance is pretty bleak, but their coffee was superb.

This was a tough place to find. It is tucked back into a business/apartment complex and has limited parking. The layout is a little funky, with the counter located at the most narrow part of the space. Although, since they did it that way it opens up the rest of the room for a amazing space to work and socialize. Not only is the first room awesome, the second room is equally amazing. This room is an art gallery with rotating art that compliments the store brilliantly. They have couches in the gallery to sit and look at the art, have a meeting, work and even use this room for open mics. They use a Simonelli machine and the coffee is average, but this place one my heart over. Really authentically friendly staff, cool gift selection, great food and a lot of spunk. If you want to get away from the hipster vibe of some of the other spots in SLC, this is your best bet.

I was looking for a different coffee shop and stumbled upon this place. Very minimal design with tall ceilings an a warehouse feel to it. Phenomenal light due to half the building being windows. Reminded me a lot of something that belongs in Portland with the heavily tattooed barista and Broken Bells blaring on the speakers. Not a whole lot of people, but very good coffee. I was shocked that they could pull such good shots out of the Simonelli. I had never heard of the Ritual roaster the use, but they make a great cup of coffee.

I was really excited when I stumbled upon this place. It is in a huge warehouse space and seemed like it had so much promise. The food was very good, but the coffee left a little something to be desired. I always think that coffee roasters should make the best coffee, but I find that is not always the case. Although it was good, it did not meet my expectations. They did not offer a 8 oz size, no macchiato and there Simonelli machine looked a little beat up. I love drinking coffee at the exact place it was roasted and in that sense it was great.

A cool little shop with an alternative/anarchist feel to it. Don’t be alarmed though, this place has something for everyone. Since it is located in a residential neighborhood the ambience is fantastic! Bringing in blue collars and hipsters, It has both a social atmosphere and a good vibe to get some work done. Although it has a little to much of a social vibe going on. As I was drawing in my notebook a 8 year old kid kept trying to talk to me. I engaged him for a minute, but after a while wondered where his adult was. I asked him, and he told me his mom was outside smoking. She stayed out there for 45 minutes while her kid ran havoc inside. Step it up bad parent! At any rate, great art, good kitsch and a very friendly staff. The had trouble with my 8 oz double shot latte and made a 12 oz instead. Even though they had a hard time, the shots they pulled were solid. The Simonelli machine they use is very nice, and they have an array of baked goods that would make your mouth water.

Cool space with upstairs seating looking down over the roasting area. Very european outside seating and seemed to be a very popular hang out for the locals. A great place to go to work and study. The baked goods are tasty, but the coffee left me wanting more. They had two machines a La Marzocco and a Simonelli, and they made my drink on the Simonelli. It is better then most coffee, but expect a little more out of a roaster.
